Event Information

  • Our events typically run for 2-4 days, and cater to 20 - 80 guests depending on the event
  • Events include a range of private retreats, corporate retreats and intimate weddings
  • We are looking for skilled Lead/Head Chefs with a proven track record of delivering high-quality menus for events who would be able to take our menu template and put their own flare on it.
  • We also welcome applications from Prep/Line cooks looking for adhoc work this summer.
  • Contract lengths may vary. We are looking to book chefs based on Event timelines. Events in quick succession could be grouped together to make a longer contract
  • Events typically involve 2-3 days prep, and run for 3-4 days. (5-7 days total)
  • We are open to Lead/Head Chefs to bring tried and test team players with them, or can provide skilled kitchen staff as required.

    We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as the Property Manager. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Property Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and ongoing development of our backcountry resort.

    Being completely off-grid a key responsibility for the Property Manager is managing and maintaining our off-grid power infrastructure systems which include: fuel powered generator systems, solar power, battery banks, and glycol heating systems.

    This is a dynamic role that requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent problem-solving skills, and is physically fit and able to carry out all tasks on property.

      Job Summary:

      Gostlin Keefer Lake Lodge is seeking a skilled and organized Lead Heavy Duty Mechanic / Shop Foreman to take the lead on all lodge-based mechanical operations. This is a hands-on role focused on the maintenance, safety, and efficiency of our vehicles, tools, heavy equipment and Pisten Bully Snowcats. You will ensure the efficient repair, maintenance and reliability of our Snowcat fleet and other mobile equipment, support maintenance and management of our lodge off-grid power infrastructure, and contribute to a smooth and safe operational season.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Establish and oversee the daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance schedules and routines for all mobile and mechanical equipment at Keefer.
      • Create and maintain inventory spreadsheets for tools and equipment
      • Ensure all tools are accounted for and in proper working order
      • Develop pre-trip vehicle checklists and a consistent service schedule
      • Organize and maintain the cat shop for efficient daily use
      • Service generators and mechanical equipment
      • Create a training program for vehicle use and maintenance
      • Develop SOPs for equipment maintenance and repair routines
      • Train equipment operators in safety and servicing standards
      • Order necessary supplies and parts to complete repairs
      • Maintain a clean and safe shop environment with tools stored after each shift
      • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with lodge procedures
      • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback with subordinates
      • Identify and address inefficiencies; implement improvements
      • Prepare annual maintenance budget and forecast
      • Meet regularly with management to align on priorities and long-term plans
      • Operate Snowcats as required
      • Assist with the winter roadbuilding program as required

      What we are looking for:

      Our ideal candidate will:

      • Have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working with Snowcats
      • Be an experienced Snowcat Operator and Roadbuilder
      • Have strong mechanical knowledge and experience
      • Have excellent computer literacy and experience working on auto cad considered a strong asset.
      • Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead a team.
      • Be organized, self-directed, and comfortable setting up systems and processes.
      • Be confident working independently, and take pride in a well-run and efficient shop.

      Qualifications:

      • Red Seal certification in Heavy Duty Mechanics or Millwright (or equivalent) required
      • Experienced Snowcat and HD Equipment Operator
      • Previous hands-on experience maintaining heavy-duty vehicles or similar equipment
      • Capable of reading and adhering to technical documents, warnings, and procedures

        Job Summary:

        We’re looking for a skilled, hands-on Heavy-Duty Mechanic to support our Shop Foreman throughout this coming winter season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance of various heavy equipment, including PistenBully snowcats, excavators, farm machinery etc . This role requires expertise in diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring the safe operation of equipment.

        Key Responsibilities:

        • Perform scheduled services, inspections, and repairs on PistenBully snowcats (tracks, driveline, hydraulics, electrical, cooling, HVAC), plus excavators, loaders, UTV/ATV, trucks, trailers, small engines, and generators.
        • Complete accurate diagnostics (mechanical, hydraulic, and 12/24V electrical); use scan tools and service software where applicable.
        • Execute preventative maintenance routines (lubrication, wear checks, fluids, filters, undercarriage/track tension, torque checks).
        • Conduct pre- and post-shift equipment inspections; document findings and clear defects promptly.
        • Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns in the field, including after-hours call-ins during storm cycles when needed.
        • Follow work orders and priorities set by the Shop Foreman; record labour, parts, and notes clearly in logs/CMMS or shared sheets.
        • Fabrication & light welding (repairs, brackets, guards) as required; assist with parts adaptation when OEM lead times are tight.
        • Hydraulics: hose changes, leak checks, cylinder/seal work, valve troubleshooting.
        • Electrical: battery/charging systems, connectors, harness tracing, lighting, sensors.
        • Powertrain: belts, driveline, gearboxes, undercarriage, track alignment/tension.
        • Manage parts requests and inventory: identify replacements, prepare order lists, receive and label parts; keep critical spares stocked.
        • Keep the shop organized (tools away, benches clear, consumables topped up)
        • Fuel, fluids & environmental compliance: proper storage, transfer, and disposal (filters, oil, coolant, hydraulic fluids).
        • Participate in daily safety meetings; Adhere to workplace safety standards.
        • Operator support: show operators basic daily checks, safe start-ups, and shutdown procedures to reduce avoidable wear.
        • Assist with generator servicing and Lodge mechanical systems (as directed).

        Skill and Qualifications:

        • Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (or 4th-year apprentice with strong experience).
        • 1–2 years’ practical shop/field experience on heavy equipment.
        • Solid diagnostics across hydraulic and electrical systems; able to read manuals, wiring diagrams, and parts books.
        • Competent with basic fabrication/welding and precision work (measuring, torque specs).
        • Organized, self-directed, and communicative; comfortable working independently in a small team.
        • Physically able to lift/move parts and work in winter mountain conditions.
        • Assets: First Aid Level 1 (or higher), WHMIS, fall protection, mobile equipment tickets.
        • Assets: PistenBully experience and/or Over Snow Vehicle experience.

        Salary and Schedule:

        • $32-40 per hour - dependent on experience
        • 70–80 hours per pay period with compressed work weeks (rotations vary by weather/ops).
        • Must have reliable transport to/from the lodge and be willing to live on-site during rotations (accommodation & meals provided on shift).
        • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and fluent in English.

        Job Summary:

        Reporting to the Lodge Management team, Lodge Hands is a dynamic role covering all aspects of a hospitality establishment. Lodge Hands are responsible for delivering outstanding hospitality services throughout a guests’ stay. The focus of this role is to provide timely, accurate and friendly service while ensuring that our guests have the best experience. Lodge Hands are also responsible for ensuring a high-standard of housekeeping, and assisting with all areas of guest services in the lodge.

        Lodge life requires a team orientated approach to work and a willingness to take on any task required to help the lodge succeed. Lodge hands should be willing and prepared to jump into any role within the lodge operations team, to ensure an overall outstanding guest experience.

        Key Responsibilities:

        • Welcome guests to the lodge in a positive and engaging manner
        • Set-up dining rooms and other food service areas for different meal periods
        • Provide a high standard of service during meal service.
        • Provide beverage service as needed and maintain a good knowledge of our bar and wine menu
        • Clean-up dining room, clean dishes, polish glassware etc.
        • Assist in the kitchen as required
        • Maintain the cleanliness of workspaces and the lodge in general
        • Assist bartender with beverage preparation as needed
        • Perform housekeeping duties throughout the property including cleaning of guest rooms, common areas and staff accommodations
        • Maintain stock of housekeeping and service supplies and communicate needs to management
        • Maintain organization and stock of inventory in retail store
        • Perform any other duties required around the lodge as required for business operations

        Skill and Qualifications:

        • Resume & proven experience as a server
        • Experience in fine dining establishments an asset.
        • A positive, team-orientated attitude
        • Adaptable to the requirements of the business and have a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed
        • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both with guests and fellow colleagues
        • Exemplary guest service skills with the ability to understand the guests’ needs and go above expectations
        • Able to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment
        • Physically capable to be moving around and on your feet for the majority of a working shift
        • Willingness to work a variety of shifts in different capacities within the lodge
        • Capable of working independently and effectively managing required duties of the day
        • Hold a valid Serving it Right an asset
        • Passion for the outdoors is an asset.
        • Ability to balance work & social life.

        Salary and Schedule:

        • $19-22 per hour
        • Accommodation and meals are supplied during work shift rotations
        • Winter schedules typically work a 8-days on, 6-days off rotation, working no more than 80 hours within a 2-week period.

        Terms of Employment:

        • Keefer Lake lodge is located 14km down a logging road. Staff are required to have a reliable vehicle to get them to and from work. The road is regularly ploughed so is accessible via 2wd and 4wd drive vehicles. Winter tires are essential
