Lead Carpenter

Assistant Property Manager

Keefer Lake Lodge is looking to add an assistant property manager to our team! The assistant property manager will need to possess a diverse set of knowledge including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and more. Being off-grid requires quick problem solving and an innovative approach as problems arise. As assistant property manager you will lead a small crew performing maintenance on infrastructure as well as help with new building projects. General Labourers

Keefer Lake Lodge is looking to add a couple of general laborers to our team! As a general laborer task will vary from doing firewood, helping with carpentry projects, trail building, and more. Candidates will posses a strong work ethic, be safety oriented, and work well in team settings as well as independently. A willingness and ability to learn will lead to more involved roles and responsibilities. The positions will be full-time employment with lodging and food being provided while on shift. Assistant Bookings Manager

Job Type: Full-time | Salary: $22.50-$30.00 per hour
Responds to communications from guests. Creates and maintains reservation records-usually by date of arrival and alphabetical listing. prepares letters of confirmation and promptly processes any cancellations and modifications.
 
Additional duties may include preparing the list of expected arrivals, assisting in preregistration activities when appropriate, and processing advance reservation deposits.
 
Bookings administrator duties and responsibilities:
  • Processes reservations by email or telephone
  • Processes reservations from the sales office or home office
  • Knows the type of rooms available as well as their location and layout.
  • Knows the selling status, rates, and benefits of all packages plans.
  • Knows the credit policy of the hotel and how to code each reservation.
  • Creates and maintains reservation records by date of arrival and alphabetical listing.
  • Prepares letters of confirmation.
  • Communicates reservation information to the manager
  • Processes cancellations and modifications and promptly relays this information to the manager.
  • Processes advance deposits on reservations.
  • Tracks future room availabilities based on reservations.
  • Prepares expected arrival list for front office use.
  • Assists in preregistration activities when appropriate.
  • Handles daily correspondence. Responds to inquiries and makes reservations as needed.
  • Makes sure that files are kept up to date.
  • Always maintains a clean and neat appearance and work area.
  • Promotes goodwill by beings courteous, friendly, and helpful to guests, managers, and fellow employees
  • Making arrangements for clients travel programs.
  • Configuring rates on the hotel's property management system.

Assistant Lodge Manager

Full Time Position

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a rapidly evolving operation that is striving to offer a unique and refined exclusive resort experience for guests, located in a stunning natural environment. At the resort, the Assistant Lodge Manager is a dynamic role that requires an individual with a high level of organization, attention to detail and flexibility.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the lodge as well as many planning and clerical duties associated with keeping a food and accommodation outlet and special event venue operational.

You will assist in hiring, training, leading, and supporting the lodge staff in a variety of areas including housekeeping, food and beverage service and kitchen operations.

Other duties include:

  • Setting and maintaining guest service standards in all lodge operations
  • Procuring, maintaining, and tracking inventory levels of housekeeping, front-of-house food service, first aid, the bar and general lodge supplies
  • Working with the bookings team to assist in organizing the logistics for guest arrivals and departures
  • Overseeing all aspects of events held on the property to ensure efficient execution and guest satisfaction
  • Operating and maintaining systems for property management software and the point-of-sale system
  • Maintaining, balancing, and reconciling cash sales and associated cash floats for the lodge when necessary
  • Ensuring the general cleanliness and upkeep of the lodge and its’ buildings including communications with the maintenance team for quick and efficient correction of issues as they arise
  • Maintaining the lodge retail area including continual organization, merchandising, and tracking inventory levels
  • Working with out-of-house suppliers to obtain products and supplies for the lodge
  • Maintaining files, receipts, and associated documents within the lodge operations
  • Being a role model for other employees throughout the resort property

Experience and training:

  • A minimum of two years' work experience in hospitality
  • A minimum of two years' work experience in a leadership role
  • Knowledge and experience in hotel operations including housekeeping practices, front office operations and utilizing property management systems
  • Experience in fine-dining food service
  • Knowledge of basic bar services
  • A diploma or degree in hospitality operations is preferred but not necessary

Terms of employment

  • Have reliable transportation to travel to and from the lodge for scheduled shifts
  • The ability to live on-site during working shifts within a shared staff accommodation in a remote location
  • Willing to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Flexible to work a diverse schedule to accommodate the business needs
  • Fluent in the English language
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
