Lodge Manager

Job Type: Full-time | Salary from: $28/ hour

Job Summary:

In this role, the Lodge Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the lodge as well as many planning and clerical duties associated with keeping a food and accommodation outlet operational. You will provide training, lead and support the lodge staff in a variety of areas including housekeeping, spa, food and beverage service and kitchen operations.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Highly organized and great attention to detail
  • 3-5 years experience in a hospitality and/or accommodation services management role
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task and manage multiple staff and ongoing projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent computer skills: Word, Excel Outlook, Sharepoint etc.
  • Willingness to jump in and help with any aspect of operations when needed
  • Exemplary guest service skills, always looking to understand guest needs and go above and beyond
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other management to ensure the success of the entire business
  • Strong leadership skill, with effective communication skills and the ability to relay concise direction
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from the lodge
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing and moving necessary to perform job duties
  • Flexible to work a diverse schedule to accommodate the business needs
  • Valid Serving it Right certification
  • Legally able to work in Canada

Location:

Due to the remote, but breath-taking wilderness location of our lodge, staff must live on-site during their working shift rotations. There is potential for candidates to be provided full-time lodging during the summer season, should it be required.

Keefer Carpenter

Job Type: Full-time | Salary from: $25-$35/ hour

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

  • Install foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.
  • Fit and install window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s level, plumb bob, and laser levels.
  • Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
  • Read specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
  • Shape or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Build or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
  • Move necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
  • Clean up worksite debris.

Qualifications:

  • 4 years in commercial or residential construction
  • Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers
  • Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
  • Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety

Salary and Shifts:

  • Starting Wage: $25-$35/hour based on experience
  • Flexile on/off rotation.

Keefer Shop Foreman

  • Inventory all tools and ensure proper working order.
  • Create vehicle pre-trip check list.

  • Organize cat shop for efficient use.
  • Service generators and equipment.
  • Create maintenance log for equipment.
  • Train operators on equipment
  • Create SOP’s for routine equipment maintenance.
  • Order supplies and parts to complete repairs and maintenance.
  • Overseeing work to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede operations.
  • Enforcing safety regulations and protocols.
  • Conducting performance reviews with operators.
  • Meeting with management to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies.
  • Implementing strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
  • Ensuring that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained.
  • Ensure shop is clean and tools put away at end of shift.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of red seal heavy-duty mechanics or millwright

Event Coordinator / Guest Relations Assistant

Job Type: Full-time | Salary from: $22.50 per hour

Gostlin Keefer Lake Lodge is seeking an Event Coordinator / Guest Relations assistant to join the team. You would be responsible for developing, managing and assisting in year-round guest related events hosted at GKLL. This role requires a detail-oriented person who is willing and able to manage an event from start to finish and communicate with the facilitators, GKLL staff and guests.

Skills:

  • Works directly with clients on proposals, contracts, planning, set‐up, décor, cost & billing details and other requirements pertinent to their program
  • Promote GKLL as a premier destination for clients and vendors
  • Create and maintain a database of potential clients
  • Participate in weekly operations and events meetings with internal departments
  • Willingness to jump in and help with any aspect of operations when needed
  • Strong leadership ability with effective communication skills to relay concise direction Event Coordinator / Guest Relations Assistant (Full-time)
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining physical stamina, a positive mental attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, employees and outside contact
  • Work with marketing team to develop and coordinate marketing goals, strategies and content
  • Assist in website updates when needed
  • Create marketing content i.e. assist in social posts, copy writing, digital ads etc…
  • Willingness to jump in and help with any aspect of operations when needed

Qualifications:

  • Event Management, Marketing Management, Communications or Hospitality certificate/diploma
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Event Management an asset.
  • Hospitality and/or adventure tourism experience an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Word, and Excel
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from the lodge. Accommodations will be provided on shift should you choose to stay.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing and moving necessary to perform job duties
  • Open to working a diverse schedule to accommodate the event schedule
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English
  • Legally able to work in Canada

Salary & Shifts:
