Assistant Bookings Manager

Job Type: Full-time | Salary: $22.50-$30.00 per hour
Responds to communications from guests. Creates and maintains reservation records-usually by date of arrival and alphabetical listing. prepares letters of confirmation and promptly processes any cancellations and modifications.
 
Additional duties may include preparing the list of expected arrivals, assisting in preregistration activities when appropriate, and processing advance reservation deposits.
 
Bookings administrator duties and responsibilities:
  • Processes reservations by email or telephone
  • Processes reservations from the sales office or home office
  • Knows the type of rooms available as well as their location and layout.
  • Knows the selling status, rates, and benefits of all packages plans.
  • Knows the credit policy of the hotel and how to code each reservation.
  • Creates and maintains reservation records by date of arrival and alphabetical listing.
  • Prepares letters of confirmation.
  • Communicates reservation information to the manager
  • Processes cancellations and modifications and promptly relays this information to the manager.
  • Processes advance deposits on reservations.
  • Tracks future room availabilities based on reservations.
  • Prepares expected arrival list for front office use.
  • Assists in preregistration activities when appropriate.
  • Handles daily correspondence. Responds to inquiries and makes reservations as needed.
  • Makes sure that files are kept up to date.
  • Always maintains a clean and neat appearance and work area.
  • Promotes goodwill by beings courteous, friendly, and helpful to guests, managers, and fellow employees
  • Making arrangements for clients travel programs.
  • Configuring rates on the hotel's property management system.

Housekeepers

Housekeepers provide cleaning service to all Lodge accommodations and common areas daily. Excellent attention to detail and following procedures is paramount. Maintenance and cleanliness play an important part in the services we provide to our guests and must be maintained at the highest standards. Housekeepers are responsible for cleaning the guest rooms, main lodge, dining room, lounge and sauna while doing laundry and inventory of supplies.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Energetic and upbeat, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Friendly personality with a genuine desire to help and please others.
  • Take pride in doing the job well and with a keen eye for detail.

Bartender

The Bartender reporting to the Lodge Management assumes full responsibility for the operations of the bar. Ensuring accountability for all sales, inventory and orders. The bartender will ensure that bar service is provided timely, accurately and in a friendly professional manner, preparing and providing high quality beverages for the guests.

Essential Duties and responsibilities.

  • All work to be performed to ‘Serving it Right’ guidelines
  • Create and maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere, welcoming guests to the Bar.
  • Have all supplies stocked and organized in advance before opening the Bar.
  • Maintaining an appropriate selection and music and volume in the Bar.
  • Preparing and serving guests at the Bar ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately, no exceptions.
  • Product knowledge is imperative, in order to make appropriate suggestions.
  • Always keeping full control of the Bar, not allowing unauthorized staff/guests behind bar.
  • Stocking the fridge daily and keep track of inventory, store new inventory in appropriate locations.
  • Preparing stock and garnish before service.
  • Accurate inventory of stock on a weekly basis, including all liquor, wine, beer, ciders and coolers.

Qualifications

  • A command of English language verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, lodge management, and co-workers.
  • Ability to think clearly and make quick decisions.
  • A professional manner, calm and work accurately under pressure.
  • Flexibility and a “can do” mentality, with a “sense of urgency”.
  • Energetic and patient with the attitude that “the customer is always right”.
  • Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized.
  • Passion for the outdoors is an asset. Relevant Hospitality experience.
  • Basic administration skills.
  • Computer skills, POS systems knowledge.

Massage Therapist

The Massage Therapist is to perform professional massage treatments to our Catskiing guests. This position is also responsible for preparing all daily massage equipment and supplies as well as pre-booking any massage requests.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere, welcoming guests and introducing massage procedures.
  • Offer professional massage treatments in accordance with accepted certification practices.
  • Be flexible with your schedule to support the needs of the guests.
  • Handle guest questions and concerns professionally, and courteously.
  • Able to communicate effectively with clients, management and co-workers.
  • Able to connect, inform, and generate guests’ interest to ensure bookings.
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing personality while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Qualifications Previous experience in deep tissue and sports therapy is required.
  • RMT license is not required.
  • Experience leading an independent massage practice is an asset.
  • Passion for working with people and the outdoors.
  • Multiple Languages, an asset.

Food & Beverage Server

Under the direction of the Lodge Manager, and Assistant Lodge Manager, Servers are to provide timely, accurate and friendly service while ensuring that our guests have the best dining experiences.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere, welcoming guests into the Dining Room.
  • Serving guests meals and beverages in the dining room and accurately recording all transactions.
  • Good knowledge of our wine menu and evening dinner menu.
  • General knowledge of guests’ allergies and dietary needs. Follow designated dining room procedures.
  • Complete assigned duties within each shift.
  • Maintain personal appearance and dress code standards.
  • Have all supplies stocked and organized in advance of opening.
  • Ensure the Dining Room is always clean, including tables, chairs, floors and service areas.
  • Regularly bus tables to keep them clean and tidy.
  • Stock the fridge daily and keep track of inventory.
  • Putting away new inventory in the appropriate locations for safe storage.
  • Ensure that all patrons ordering alcohol are of 19 years of age or older, following Provincial Law.
  • Obtain knowledge of all aspects of Lodge Information.
  • Maintain positive communication with supervisor and co-workers and encourage a team atmosphere.
  • Report to managers when something is broken or in need of repair.
  • Handle all guest service issues in an immediate and gracious manner.
  • Possess a good knowledge of the wine stock on hand with the ability to make appropriate wine suggestions and pairings to the daily menu.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Lodge Manager or Assistant Lodge Manager.

Days Off Relief Chef

Under the direction of the Lodge Manager and Head Chef; DRC will provide timely and thoughtful culinary
preparations while ensuring oversight of the kitchen team. Maintain quality, inventory and costing targets
independently without direct oversight of the Head Chef.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Maintain highest food quality while achieving timely service.
    Comprehensive knowledge of our menu across the board.
  • Specific oversight and knowledge of guests’ allergies and dietary needs.
  • Follow designated kitchen prep procedures.
  • Follow designated recipes and meal plans within each shift.
  • Maintain personal appearance and dress code standards.
  • Have all supplies stocked and organized in anticipation of teammates requirements.
  • Ensure the kitchen, prep and storage areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Regularly communicate with front of house throughout the duration of day.
  • Oversee reception of food orders and keep track of inventory. Putting away new inventory in the appropriate locations for safe storage.
  • Ensure that all operations in kitchen are done so following Provincial Law (FOODSAFE).
  • Obtain knowledge of all pertinent aspects of Lodge Operations.
  • Maintain positive communication with supervisor and co-workers and encourage a team atmosphere.
  • Possess a good knowledge of the menu before commencing work; with the ability to make appropriate suggestions when needed to accommodate guest departures from the daily menu.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Lodge Manager or Assistant Lodge Manager.

  • Red Seal “level” performance/ Red Seal Certification Plus, but not mandatory
